SCVMM 2008 R2 – Solution of Warning (13921)

You may get warning (13921) after migration of a virtual machine from a host to cluster:

Warning (13921)
Highly available virtual machine VX7526 is not supported by VMM because one or more of its network adapters is not configured correctly.

Recommended Action
Ensure that all of the virtual network adapters are either disconnected or connected to highly available virtual networks.

Let’s check virtual network adapters of the virtual machine:

As you see, I have 5 network tags. But the “Internal Network” exist in the Cluster? Let’s check it.

Right click to Cluster and click to Properties. Click “Networks” tab.

Now I see only 4 network cards. So where is the “Internal Network”?

That means I don’t have any network called “Internal Network”. So I have to create Internal Network in all Clustered Hosts or I have to choose another network. I simply choose Backup Network for my virtual machine.

Tadaaaa! We fixed it :) Remember, in order to assign a virtual network to virtual machine in a cluster environment, you need to create that virtual network in all hyper-v hosts. Good luck.

SCVMM 2008 R2 – Error 415

You may get this error when you try to add an external host to SCVMM 2008 R2:

Error (415)
Agent installation failed copying C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2\agents\I386\2.0.4271.0\msiInstaller.exe to \\hyperv02.yusufozturk.info\ADMIN$\msiInstaller.exe.
(The system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you)

Recommended Action
1. Ensure hyperv02.yusufozturk.info is online and not blocked by a firewall.
2. Ensure that file and printer sharing is enabled on hyperv02.yusufozturk.info and it not blocked by a firewall.
3. Ensure that there is sufficient free space on the system volume.
4. Verify that the ADMIN$ share on hyperv02.yusufozturk.info exists. If the ADMIN$ share does not exist, reboot hyperv02.yusufozturk.info and then try the operation again.

Solution: Check external host’s AD DNS servers. In my scenario, DNS servers were down, I couldn’t get authenticated.

Bir kaç gün önce System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 çıktı ve artık indirilebilir durumda. Daha çok kısa bir süre önce Hyper-V R2’nin RTM olması üzerine SCVMM 2008 R2’nin RTM olması çok sevindirici bir gelişme. Tabi bizim için uykusuz geceler tekrar başlıyor. Tüm yapıyı R2’ye yükseltmek biraz zaman alacak ve bu işlemleri kesintileri en aza indirgeyerek yapabilmek için gece yapmamız gerekiyor.

SCVMM 2008 R2 ve Hyper-V R2 ile birlikte gelen yeni özellikleri aşağıdaki bağlantıdan inceleyebilirsiniz:
